Abstract :
There are various expositions of Köroğlu Epic in Turkish World and neighboring nations. One of them is Turkmen version with its rich content. In different parts of Turkmen version of the epic Köroğlu and his stout men launch expeditions on all sides of Turkmenistan. The main place of expedition is Caucasian geography. Köroğlu and his men go to Georgia, Azerbaijan and Revan. They have battles here and win victories. In the expeditions of Iran they generally stop by Tebriz and Isfahan. Köroğlu mostly goes to expedition to Georgia from Caucasian Geography. In the parts of epic called “Kırk Binler”, “Bezirgan” and “Köroğlu Beg and Davut Serdar” Köroglu’s expeditions to Georgia are narrated. His marrying with a wife from Georgia and founding a state dependent on his own governance are mentioned. In other parts various Caucasian countries and cities are mentioned shortly or in detail.In this paper moving from the information given about the countries and cities of Caucasia that are in the parts of Turkmen version of Köroğlu Epic; Georgia, Azerbaijan and Revan being the primary ones, the relationship of Köroğlu with the region will be studied. Moreover narration of countries and cities in Caucasian region and materials about the characteristics and folklore of local community that take place in the epic will be examined too.
