Abstract :
The works, concerning Ottoman history Ottoman language and literature, of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, prominent writer, dramatist, satirist of Azerbaijan, editor-in-chief of “Molla Nasreddin” journal (1906-1931) are scientifically analysed in the paper. The liberation movement in the Turkey, history of Konstitution are considered, activities of patriots such as Midhat pasha and Suleyman pasha are highly appreciated. Sultan Abdulhamid as the cause for death of such national heroes and patriots, merciless measures taken by him to press the democratic movement, his despotism and oppression have been criticized here. Mirza Jalil pointed that it is necessary to turn complex, difficult, rich with Arab-Persian words language of Ottoman Divan literature to literary language - simple and easy, corresponding to national spoken language. He was acquainted with works of representatives of the Ottoman literature, such as Tofig Fikrat, Abdulhag Hamid, Abdulla Jovdat, Muallim Naji, Namik Kamal; many publicist works expressing his opinion of them were written. Jalil Mammadguluzadeh has written satirical imitation named “Biz” (“We”) to the lyrical poem “Vatan shargisi” (“Homeland song”) of Turkish patriot poet Namik Kamal.
