Abstract :
Memoirs is the one of important resource which history researcher use. The memoirs appears as a prose which is written down by people’s life style and mind. In this research, it is investigated about memoirs which retired colonel İrfan Durukan wrote because of Antep War. Mister was born in 1879 in İstanbul. His real name is Mahmut İrfan. He took part in different assignments in the ottoman border provinces like the Yemen, Çanakkale and the South front. His last assignment was in the president of department of regional draft Office in İzmir. In 1931 he retired because of age limit. After the Mondros truce which was signed after World War 1, Antep was invaded by english according to 7th provision. The english occupation lasted a year. English and French were agreed themselves and the english soldiers gave their military zone to french soldiers. After the french came to Antep, the hero youngs of Antep defended their city at the risk of their life. They were a model to regular army by fighting in the city. The colonel mister İrfan was the president of department of regional draft Office during occupation of English in Antep. He didn’t deliver weapons which were in the store of local draft Office to english commander who came to agreement because there wasn’t any decision. These weapons were carried secretly to villages and used in antep war. The weapons which weren’t delivered in Antep war is important as the General Kazım Karabekir’s the 15th army corps in the Turkish War of independence. Besides, mister İrfan’s meeting with law defence community, the idea was applied which mister İrfan suggested about the strategy of resistance.
