Adaptation of Reflective Thinking Scale to Turkish
Abstract :
The aim of the study is to adopt Questionnaire for Reflective Thinking (QRT) developed by Kember et al. (2000) in Turkish. Original scale has four subscales as; “habitual action”, “understanding”, “reflection” and “critical reflection”. Translation of the scale into Turkish was made by four experts. Revised version of the scale was administered to 242 students from Education Faculty of Uludağ University. In order to improve the validity and reliability indices of the scale; normal distribution analysis, item analysis and exploratory factor analysis were conducted. Internal consistency and Pearson product moment correlation coefficients were calculated as well. The results of exploratory factor analysis show that Turkish version of the scale has four subscales and each subscale has four items like original scale. Confirmatory factor analysis results confirmed that tested data have well accordance with the ideal data.
