Student Survey for the Use of Moodle Learning Platform to Improve Writing Skills in Teaching German as a Foreign Language
Abstract :
The concept of Blended Learning encloses the mixture of classical class teaching and E-Learning. Therefore it is valid as an innovative learning form in which class teaching phases are combined with online phases. The present article argues the teaching of German as a foreign language at university level. Furthermore, it deals with the questions like the use and acceptance of the web- based teaching offers. The contribution of the learning platform Moodle is examined by the realization of a qualitative and quantitative survey on the study in terms of German writing skills of students. The study has the subject “Application of the learning platform Moodle for writing activities in German as a foreign language”. The results of the survey applied on 24 students of a state university in Ankara show that the interactive work with such a learning platform is taken up very positively for writing activities. However, an efficient teaching planning and a purposeful application of the learning platform are necessary so that the big potential of Blended Learning can be used adequately.
