Anorectal Malformations in Children
Abstract :
Anorectal malformations (ARM) are congenital abnormalities that are accompanied by additional malformations resulted from the abnormal development of Müllerian duct, allantonis and hindgut which occupies the whole or a part of the urorectal septum. To create a functional anorectal part with maximum efficiency by means of experienced surgery and well-defined anatomy are the main goals of the treatment. Despite significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment in recent years, late-period problems still remain except by lower types. Recent studies related to ARM are gathered together in this study.
