Sensibility of Environmental Risks in İstanbul University Vocational School of Health Services Students
Abstract :
Objective: The aim of the study was to determine about the environmental risk sensitivity students in İstanbul University vocational school of health services.Materials and Methods: The universe of this study were students of İstanbul University vocational school of health services within 2009-2010 education period and was conducted among 310 students. In the research, a questionnaire has a 59 guestion which was developed by reviewing the literature was used.Results: The first three prior environmental risk factors which were perceived as high/very high risks were reduction of natural areas (total score: 1063), water scarcity and shortage (total score:1050) and chemical wastes (total score:1041).: The first three prior environmental risk factors which were perceived as low/very low risks were reduction in coral reefs (total score: 653), bottled water (total score:648) and have a tan (total score:558).Conclusion: The students’ environmental sensitivities should be increased through regular training.
