Emergency Stent Grafting at Thoracic Aortic Transections
Abstract :
Traumatic thoracic aortic injuries are associated with high mortality and morbidity. These patients often have multiple injuries, and delayed aortic repair is frequently used. Because of the high risk for open surgery, endoluminal grafts offer an alternative to open surgical repair. In these case report we aimed to present a successful emergency repair of aortic transections for two women, 54 and 26 years old victims of same traffic accident, by endovascular stent grafts.
