Title Of Article :
A Case with Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Triggered By 5-Fluorouracil
Abstract :
5 Fluorouracil is widely used in the treatment of solid tumors. The adverse skin reactions due to 5 fluorouracil drugs are photosensitivity, hyperpigmentation, actinic keratosis, flaring of seborrheic dermatitis, palmoplantar erythrodysesthesis and less frequently toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). Toxic epidermal necrolysis is defined as the detachment of more than 30% of body surface area with high risk of multiple organ failure and eventually death. Toxic epidermal necrolysis has high mortality and requires urgent medical treatment. We want to report a case diagnosed with 5-fluorouracil induced TEN and died with multi-organ failure. TEN secondary to 5 fluorouracil treatment is rarely seen and has not been previously reported in adolescents.
