Intraventricular Brain Metastasis from Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Rare Case Report
Abstract :
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a rapidly progressing malignancy with a poor survival rate. It is a very chemo sensitive disease. Its prognosis is poor due to its tendency to early relapses and metastases. SCLC frequently metatasizes to lymph nodes, adrenal glands, liver, bone, brain and pleura. Cerebral parenchymal metastases are common but intraventricular metastasis is rare. In this article we present a case of a man diagnosed with SCLC who developed multiple parenchymal and intraventricular brain metastases.
