Title Of Article :
Investigation of Florphenicol Residue in Edible Tissues of Rainbow Trout
Abstract :
In this study, residue levels of florphenicol in edible tissues of rainbow trout (skin, muscle and liver) were investigated. For this purpose, a total 50 rainbow trouts from 5 different facilities from Elazig (25 at pre-harvest and 25 during harvest) were used. Florphenicol levels of samples were examined with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). As a result of the analysis, florphenicol was detected from 44% of skin samples, 32% of muscle samples and 16% of liver samples of the rainbow trouts from pre-harvest and 40% of skin samples, 36% of muscle samples and 32% of liver samples from rainbow trouts taken during harvest. Residual amont of florphenicol at muscle samples taken from pre-harvest rainbow trouts (3.52±0.89 μg/g) were found to be statistically higher than samples taken during harvest (0.69±0.21 μg/g) (p 0.05), There was no statistically difference detected from skin and liver samples (p 0.05). As a result of study, mean residue levels of florphenicol at edible tissue of rainbow trout (skin, muscle, liver) taken during both pre-harvest and harvest, found to be higher than residue limits by Turkish Food Codex.
