Abstract :
The aim of this study was to invastigate the serum trace elements and some biochemical paramters in sheep with fleece eating in pre- and post- treatment periods. The sixteen sheep with fleece eating were used in this study. Copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), manganase (Mn) and cobalt (Co) levels were analysed with atomic absorption, and serum biochemical parameters were analysed by biochemical analyzer using commercial test kits. A solution consisting of mineral and trace elements were used for therapy in the sheep with felece eating. The Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, total protein, albumine, glucose and calcium levels were significantly lower, but phosphorus level was not significantly lower in pretreatment period compared to posttreatment period. Furthermore, alanin amino transferase (ALT), aspartate amino transferase (AST), blood urea nitrogene (BUN) and creatinine levels were significantly higher between the same periods. In conclusion, itour results demonstrated once again that fleece eating could be faced in the indoor feeding programs and trace element deficiencies plays an important role at the occurence of this problem.
