Title Of Article :
Thermographic, Ultrasonographic and Radiological Diagnosis of Acute Tendovaginitis in Front Legs of Horses
Abstract :
The aim of this study was to investigate the comparisons of early diagnosis and healing process of acute inflammation in peritendon by thermographic, ultrasonographic and radiographic techniques in various breeds of stallion and mares. For this purpose, front limb of flexor tendons, musculus flexor digitorum superficialis (MFDS) ve musculus flexor digitorum profundus (MFDP) were recorded by an thermography device before and 20-, 35-, 50- 80 mins, 7th day and 14th days after egzersize. There were statistically significant differences in thermographic values between before egzersize and after egzersize (p 0.05). In ultrasonographic examination and measurement before enduring egzersize and 1.5 hour after thermographic examination, at 7th and 14th days distance, length, border and area of tehnods were obtained. No statistically significant difference was observed in ultrasonographic values. (p 0.05). Data obtained here showed that thermography has superior features, and very sensitive to detect minute temperature changes. Not alone but used in combination with other diagnostic techniques like ultrasonography, it will support the diagnosis.
