Accreditation: an assurance system for quality, productivity and efficiency in veterinary faculties

Accreditation is a quality indicator developed and placed in the economical, managerial and educational area by the awareness of the importance of sustainability term. At present, accreditation criteria have been established and applied in several areas on a scale from the reasonable level to a perfect level.These criteria aimed to elevate and finally consummate the medical science education level on animal welfare, food security, sustainable farm management, laboratory and biosecurity, scientific diagnosis and treatment issues in the area of veterinary medicine by EAEVE (European Association of Establishment for Veterinary Education) in European Union. In this capacity, it was aimed to raise awareness of accreditation with an eye toward lifelong education for the faculties both under the evaluation process and for those applying for membership as well as the practitioners on the basis of the accreditation period of the AKU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The process has been reviewed to be shared with the correspondents in a timely and analytical manner.
