Clinical Effects Of Oral Bethanechol On Bladder Tone in Companion Animals With Detrusor Areflexıa: Evaluation Of 3 Cases
Abstract :
Detrusor areflexia results from neurogenic and nonneurogenic origin in dog and cats. Severe and long term bladder distention associated the mechanical or functional obstruction may cause detrusor muscle atony. Cholinergic agonist Bethanechol induces the contraction of detrusor muscle covering the bladder wall. The purpose of the present case series including 2 cats and a dog is to point out the usage of Bethanechol on bladder tone in dog and cats with detrusor areflexia.
