Title Of Article :
Determination of Aflatoxin M1 Levels in Cow Milk by HPLC Samples Produced in Elazığ
Abstract :
In this study; It was aimed to determine the Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) levels which have strong toxic effect on human health in cattle milk samples obtained from Elazig and its central villages. A total of 60 milk samples obtained from 30 dairy farms in Elazig were brought to the Elazig Provincial Food Control Laboratory by carrying them in disposable clean cups and under the cold chain where they were analysed in terms of AFM1 level via High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the 16 samples (60%) of 60 raw milk samples did not contain AFM1, 36 (60%) samples contained AFM1 within legal limits and the remaining 8 samples contained AFM1 above the legal limits. As a result, it is vital for community health to identify all mycotoxin content, especially AFM1, that the milk produced in farms or small family businesses is regularly checked before serving for consumption. :
