Abstract :
Prof. Dr. Abdi Ekzioğlu, the academic staff of Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry Department of Forest Policy and Administration, retired on August 22nd, 2011. Ekizoğlu started his academic career as an assistant in 1975 and obtained the Ph.D degree in 1985. Then he was appointed as Associate Professor and Professor in 1989 and 1995, respectively. He published lots of scientific treatises, lectured many undergraduate and graduate courses at both Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry and some other forestry faculties. Moreover he served as Head of Forest Engineering Department, Administrative Member of Institute of Science Board and Senator of Istanbul University at various terms. Biography, academic studies and administrative duties of Prof. Dr. Abdi Ekizoğlu are explained in this article.
