Abstract
Musical instrument education is the most essential and important component of music education in instutions. The violin’s touching sound, wide area of utilization in music education and rich repertoire make violin education have an important function in instrument education. Therefore, in this study, the spicatto technique – being one of the important techniques in violin – is addressed and utilization of Turkish folk tunes in teaching spiccato technique in violin is investigated. Among a large spectrum of folk tunes, three which are considered convenient for teaching spiccato technique are selected as sample of this study.
