The Evaluation of Secondary Education 9th Grade Physics Textbook in Accordance with the Views of Teachers

Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the views of teachers about visual design, content, language, expression, assessment, and evaluation of 9th grade physics textbook which is prepared according to physics instruction program in 2007. Textbook evaluation scale consisting of 57 questions was applied to 88 physics teachers from different high schools. Survey method was used in this research. According to the results of this study, teachers have given average 3.2 points out of 5 to 9th grade physics textbook in accordance with visual design-content-language and expression-assessment and evaluation. This result indicates that this book is not well-qualified enough to meet the expectations of teachers.
