    Relationship between the Dimensions of Eighth-Grade Elementary-School Students’ Interpersonal Relationship and Their Achievement in Science-Course

  • Abstract
    The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between their achievements in science- courses with the dimensions of students’ interpersonal relationship which occupies a place of great importance in their in-and-out-of school lives. Within the framework of this general purpose, students’ interpersonal relationships were examined to see if it differentiated according to students’ demographic characteristics. There search performed with 439 eighth-grade elementary school students living in central cities and urban fringes. Student Information Form, Dimensions of Interpersonal Relationship Scale” and final grade averages of Science and Technology Course are used in this study. The results obtained from data analysis showed that students’ grade-averages out of such sub-dimensions of their interpersonal relationship differentiated in parallel with the selected demographic characteristics that there existed a meaningful relation. It was found that there existed meaningful relationship at a lower level between the sub-dimensions of their interpersonal relationship and success in Science-Course.
