Developing a Scale for the Use of ICT through Scientific Process of Preservice Teachers
Abstract :
The main purpose of this study is to develop scale in order to determine prospective science teachers’ status of using technology in scientific process. For this purpose, Using Information Communication Technology Scientific Process Scale developed in the the research. A survey method was employed in this study. 245 prospective teachers who studying in the Faculty of Education in Adiyaman University attended the research. In the research process, firstly item pool has been created and is made of pre-treatment. In order to determine the construct validity, factor analysis were applied to the scale composed of 53 items. Final scale with 25 items was obtained by eleminating the items which has factor loads lower than 0,50 and the items both locating under two factors at the same time and difference of factor loads under this factors lower than 0,20. The scale is composed of using information, experiment design and implementation, using science process skills, research and development subdimensions and is explained the 57,872 percentage of the total variance. Also, the reliability coefficient was found to be 0.93. According to findings, it was concluded that the scale is valid and reliable.
