Adaptation of Lawson’s Classroom of Science Reasoning (Multiple-Choice Version)
Abstract :
Aim of this study was to adapt the test whose name is “Classroom Test of Scientific Reasoning” which was updated by Lawson (2000), into Turkish. After obtaining the permission from the researcher, the items of the test translated into Turkish by the researchers. After that, the forms which are English-Turkish compatibility rating form and Turkish intelligibility rating form were prepared and the translation validity was analyzed. Then, item analyse was used and the final form of test was administered to a group which included 779 students. The reliability coefficent of total test (Spearman Brown) was calculated as 0.72. And there is significant positive correlation between tests’ sub-factors and total test scores.Research’s findings revealed that adapted test can be used reliably.
