Relation Between Social Interaction Anxiety and Happiness: Intermediary Role of Solitude Among University Students
Abstract :
The aim of the study is to examine the intermediary role of loneliness in the relation between the social interaction anxiety and happiness among university students. Study group was formed by 324 female and 270 male, a total of 594 students at Fırat University. Interaction Anxiety Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale, and Oxford Happiness Scale Short Form were used as data collection tools. Collected data were analyzed by correlation and regression techniques. The findings demonstrated that social interaction anxiety predicted loneliness and happiness and in the relation between social interaction anxiety and happiness, loneliness acted as a partial intermediary.
