Examination of Articles Published in International Language Journals in terms of Object/Subject and Method

Articles published in the field of language are important as they show which dimensions of a language are studied. In this research, the purpose was to examine the researches of “Language, Culture and Curriculum”, “Language and Education” and Language Assessment Quarterly” journals, which are searched in important indexes, in 2015 and 2016 in terms of objective, method, study population and data analysis. The study population consists of researches published in these journals in 2015 and 2016. The data of the research were collected through document review method, which is one of the qualitative research techniques, and they were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. In this research, the themes were previously determined as objective/subject, research design/method, study population and data analysis. In consequence of the conducted analyses, it was determined that qualitative studies gained importance in the researches and learning a language as a foreign language was substantially included in research subjects. It was detected that multiple usage was preferred in study population, method and analyses.
