Predicting Transformational Leadership Levels of Administrators by Psychological Well-Being and Other Certain Personal Variables
Abstract :
This is a descriptive study aiming to examine whether administrators’ levels of transformational leadership is predicted by psychological well-being and other certain personal variables. The study sample of 322 school administrators was formed through random sampling from the study universe. The “Psychological Well-Being Scale”, the “Transformational Leadership Scale”, and a “Personal Information Form” were employed to obtain the data. A Simple Regression analysis was performed in order to ascertain whether the administrators’ levels of transformational leadership is significantly predicted by psychological well-being, gender, marital status, seniority and the job status. The study results demonstrated that the psychological well-being, marital status, seniority, job status (principal or vice-principal) variables are a significant predictor of administrators’ transformational leadership behavior. However, gender was not found to be a significant predictor.
