Investigation of Primary 5th Grade Students’ Views about the Discipline Implementation of Teachers to Undesirable Behavior in the Classroom
Abstract :
Traditional and modern discipline methods are applied by teachers for the undesirable behavior of students in the class. The aim of the research is to determine what the students think about these methods applied by teachers. This research also examine the views of students who attends class 5 according to gender, capacity (size), of class, academic success, type of school and the location of the school. ‘Personal Information Form’ and ‘Survey for Student Views about Discipline Application of Teachers’ are developed by researchers by getting the views of instructor of faculty of education and applied to 902 students in the universe. According to result of research it is determined that gender doesn’t affect the views of students. It is determined that the students who have high academic success and goes to private school more adopted to modern discipline application more applied by the teachers. Some changes determined according to capacity and the location of the school. Adopting to modern discipline application and efforts to improve academic success can be advice to teachers. If some advices needed to be given to future researchers about discipline applications, number of questions can be increased, survey may be converted to scale type and survey may be applied in different cities.
