A Small Component of Social and Economic Situation of Ayntab in the Last quarter of 19th Century
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to evaluate economical and social structure of “Aintap County” by the last quarter of XIX. century according to the documents extracted from the Judicial Records, number 152 that including years of 1884-1886. Aintab, due to its easy climate and geographical position, has had a pretty busy economical and social structure throughout the history. This business and prosperous state of the city has led to constitution of miscellaneous social and religious institutes. It has been inspected that the the city has plentiful agricultural products and a high-volume of commerce by the last quarter of XIX. century. Again, there is a potential abundance of tradesmen and of craftsmen in the city. Besides that, the social structure of the city can be referred as one of the finest examples of Ottoman cosmopolite and social integrity.
