Abstract
This article reports findings of a study which investigated the quality of life of 127 school managers working in the South East region of Turkey. Self-reports of school managers were collected via World Health Organization Quality of Life Measure (WHOQOL-BREF) Turkish Form. Quantitative design was utilized and analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics, difference (t-test) and correlation (Pearson) tests. Findings showed that (i) managers had over-average quality of life scores in the total scale as well as in environmental, psychological, physical and social relational dimensions; (ii) quality of life scores differed significantly in terms of variables such as marital status, experience and number of students and teachers in schools;1 and (iii) significant relationships were found among dimensions of the quality of life measure. We suggest that school managers’ quality of life should be improved if the aim is to help them provide education of good quality in their schools.
