Abstract :
This study was planned to research probable differences between functional parameters of the left ventricle derived from the analysis of scans of both the multigated analysis (MUGA) and the gated blod pool single photon emission tomography (GBPS) and to present the level of correlation between calculated results. MUGA and GBPS imaging was performed to 29 patients included into the study, respectively. Scans were analyzed automatically and functional parameters including ejection fraction of the left ventricle (LVEF), peak emtying rate (PER), peak filling rate (PFR) and time-to-peak filling rate (TTPFR) were calculated. Measurements of LVEF calculated by MUGA were significantly higher than those calculated by GBPS. Besides, there was not a statistically significant difference among the other parameters including PER, PFR, TTPFR derived from both imaging modalities. When the correlation among calculated parameters was examined, it was detected that there was no significant correlation between TTPFR measurements, there was a weak-good correlation between PFR measurements and there were a statistically significant and, good correlation between PER and LVEF measuremetents. As a conclusion, there was no significant difference between functional parameters of the left ventricle that were calculated from both MUGA and GBPS, but it was detected that LVEF values calculated by GBPS were sigificantly lower. For this reason during imaging analysis, it would be helpful to cross-check the automatic analysis by manuel analysis in order to decrease the probable differences.
