Abstract :
“Supporting offender” is one of an offens that against the judicial bodies or court. According to the 283 nd. Article of Turkish Penal Code (Law No: 5237) “Any person who provides facility for an offender in order to avoid his search, arrest or conviction” must be punished. As expressed in justification of Turkish Penal Code, this offence aims to avoid helping the offender after a crime and realize criminal justice. The previous Penal Code (Code No:765) also included this crime but it was different from the law in force.
