Abstract :
Perjury is regulated by the 272nd article of the Turkish Criminal Code no. 5237 under the title “Offences Committed Against the Administration of Justice”. This regulation punishes witnesses under the scope of an investigation opened due to an illegal act who give false testimony in front of a person authorized to listen witnesses, a committee or a judge. The 4th and 8th paragraphs of the article state that; in cases where protection measures and sanctions are applied to the person against whom the witness has given false testimony, the punishment shall be aggravated. In addition article 273 regulates impunity for personal reasons and article 274 regulates effective repentance.
