Abstract :
Individual vocabulary enrichment is an important process in development understanding an explaining skills and it is evaluating a very important issue in teaching of Turkish as a mother tongue. Turkish Language Curriculum aiming to develop this vocabulary with the activities. The aim of this study is to investigate in the sixth grade levels vocabulary teaching activities in terms of the distribution of the themes, distribution of basic language skills and grammar fields, the distribution of methods, the distribution of dimensions of vocabulary teaching, the distribution of cognitive levels, and the distribution of vocabulary items. This study is limited the activities in the sixth Grade Levels of Primary School Turkish Lesson Student Workbook using 2011-2012 academic year. In the study, used a check list which was formed by researcher. In this process, used the concepts’ operational definitions for each sub-problem and the tools used by not the researcher but two professional instructors. After the coding procedure, the datum was classified as percent and frequency. As a result, in the sixth Grade Levels of Primary School Turkish Lesson Student Workbook vocabulary teaching activities’ quantitative and qualitative features were determined as theme, skills, methods, dimensions, cognitive level, and vocabulary and made suggestions about these variables.
