PLANT NAMES DERIVED FROM ANIMAL NAMES IN TURKEY TURKISH
Abstract :
In naming the plant names and animals that are determined in the nature are seen in cultural and scientific works. Some of the works are the milestones that shows the future of nations in terms of the information contained in their messages. Göktürk Inscriptions, Divânü Lûgâti’t-Türk and Kutadgu Bilig are these kind of works in Turkish cultural history. There are a lot of domisticated and wild animal names in these works. Some of these animal names are used today. Twelve Animal Turkish Schedule , which is seen in many geography from the Far East to Central Asia, is formed with animal names. In order to distinguish the animals with each other, various marking ways have been used. The words that are used for marking the animals are also used for marking plants in the next stages.
