Abstract :
According to sources on the subject, Çaŋ Seŋün, referred to in Kol Tigin Monument, is a Tang general with artistic talents appointed to write Tang Emperor Hsuang – Tsung’s words said about the late Kok Turkish prince on a stone. Çaŋ Seŋün ornamented the west face of Kol Tigin monument with six artists from the dynasty, and delegated designing of sections in Kok Turkish of the design on the monument to Yollug Tigin and his subordinate artists. There isn’t any record about whether he took part in the creation of other sides of the monument or not. In this study, top ornament, vegetal ornaments on the west side of and calligraphy of Chinese characters (Clerical Script) of Kol Tigin Monument, in making of which the Tang Dynasty artists took part, were focused on, and efforts were made to create trial drawing of these using Adobe Illustrator software.
