Abstract
The job of the researcher dealing with the philology of historical texts is to solve the unknowns of the text’s language by understanding them from between the lines and bring them to light. Because the language leaves some of the words, idioms, word patterns it uses in the past with the flow of time and proceed on its way by using new ones instead of these. Hence, words, idioms, word patterns the language used in a certain period remain in written texts. However, problems related to a historical text is not limited to this. The misspellings in the text may cause the misreading of the researcher. Therefore, the researcher has to know which topics are told in which part of the text, in other words the context, well. Another important point is the researcher’s knowledge that which words were used in which part of the text and in what meanings, in other words his/her command of the work’s language.
