    MANICHAEAN MOTEVIES IN THE TURKIC RUNIC TEXTS FROM DUNHUANG AND TUVA

  • Abstract
    Two texts from the old Turkish period were handled in this article. The first one is Irk Bitig as called omen of books that was written in 930 in the Dayuntang Manichaean monastery in Dunhuang. The second one is the runic epitaph on the bank of the Yenisei river in Tuva. This epitaph was dedicated to Kyrgyz Khan‟s nephew in the second half of the 9th century. There are traces of Manichaean tradition in the two texts. This situation indicates that the culture and religion of Manichaean have become highly effective in in the early periods of the middle in the geographical regions.
