Abstract :
In this project, which is planned in two parts, it is probable that the tombs and tombs seen on the surface in the Ahlat Cemetery which is the World Heritage, as well as tombs with disappearance of surface traces over time, or fragments which are broken and buried under the surface. On the other hand, due to different burial techniques in the cemetery, underground structures or grave rooms can be found. The discovery of these traits and the conduct of such a research before the commencement of the Ahlat Cemetery will lead to the completion of the information and the speeding up of the work, and the proper planning before the excavation work will be made. In particular, underground connection between tombs, roads and so on. It will be possible to obtain information about the structures. For this purpose two different geophysical methods have been applied in the cemetery field as magnetic and locally. In addition, three dimensional terrestrial laser (Lidar) measurements were made in order to reveal the location of the foundations of the kümbets on the field, to define the kümbet architecture and to form a base for future restoration work.
