AN INVESTIGATION OF THE ROLES OF HEROES IN THE BOOK OF NAKI TEZEL’S TURKISH FABLES
Abstract :
A fable is one of the teaching materials playing significant roles on the child’s development in the perspective of education and culture. A child growing up with fables learns realities of life in advance by concrete examples. This research is the descriptive study based on scanning model. In this study, the concept of fable was defined, and the necessary qualities which it must have were determined.Later, 23 fables in the book of Turkish Fables written and collected by Naki Tezel from variousregions of Turkey were studied. Heroes in each fable were separately determined. The roles ofdefined heroes in the fables were also described. Moreover, it was tried to explain that at whatperspective do the heroes and positive and negative messages in the fables influence to the child’sdevelopment and psychology.
