Abstract :
Manisa, the city of Ottoman princes, was one of the most important political and cultural centers of the Ottoman Empire. Many civil and religious buildings were built on the orders of sultans. Most of these buildings have survived to our day. Among these structures libraries and educational institutions such as madrasas are the most important buildings of the Ottoman period in Manisa. The collection of manuscripts which are held by Manisa Manuscript Library were bestowed to these foundations by sultans and their mothers. In this article, we will explain the history of the manuscripts before they found their way to “Manisa Manuscript Library” and we will give samples from three Mushaf-ı Şerif Manuscripts Bindings. Their inventor numbers are MHK587, MHK6788, MHK5510.
