A MYSTIC POET BURIED IN MANISA: SEYYID IBRAHIM HALIL EFENDI AND HIS DIVAN “KENZ-I ġUMUS”
Abstract :
In this study, it will be introduced “Kenz-i Şumûs” the most important work of Seyyid İbrahim Halil Efendi who lived in the 20th century and spent his last 11 years in Manisa. In the first part of this study, the life and character of İ. Halil Efendi will be focused briefly, and then general information about his works will be given regarding his scientific, mystical and literary character. In the second part, his Divan which has not been discussed academically yet, will be examined from the aspects of form, content, and language and style giving examples from his poems. İbrahim Halil Efendi s Divan is an example of religious-mystical literary tradition, at this point he employed poetry as a means of spreading his thoughts and giving advice to his disciples.
