Abstract :
In this study, the relationship between irrational beliefs and hopelessness among the university studens was examined. The participants in this study included 202 students from university in Bayburt, Turkey. Data were collected by Irrational Beliefs Scale, Beck Hopelessness Scale and Individual Knowledge Form. Data were analysed of Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, Kruskal Wallis and Dunnett’s T3. The findings of the study indicated that although there was significant relation between levels of hopelessness and sex, education section, perceived quality of life among the university students, there was no relation between perceived socio-economic and parents’ education level. In addition, there was significant relation between levels of irrational beliefs and sex, education section, perceived quality of life among the university students. However there was no significant relationship between perceived socio economic and parents’ education level.
