Abstract :
Turkish nation, possessing a huge cultural treasure-house, is the heir of an important civilization. This cultural wealth is reflected in the literary works. There is a huge number of literary works, both those that have survived and those that haven’t, that represent the Turkish identity.Old Turkish literature comprises a period of seven centuries. For this reason the literary works are of great importance. Literary works that are dedicated to the study of religion and reality of nature occupy an important place in the old Turkish literature. Akâid-nâmes – one of the significant literary genres in the old literature- are in the form of mesnevi verses. The first work regarding this topic was the risale named after Imâm-ı Azâm Ebû Hanife who named the science of Islam Akaid as Fıkh-ı Ekber. Fıkh-ı Ekber, the essence of which is the belief in one God, is a work on moral interpretation that is written in a verse form authored by Imami Azam. In 1095 (1648) verse-type interpretation of the mentioned work called Manzume-i Akâid was published by Seyyidî. With this interpretation by Seyyidî another work was added to the Turkish literature regarding Akâid-nâme. Our aim is to convey Manzûme-i Akâid to the modern day literature.
