Abstract :
Intensive political and commercial relations had existed between the Turkish and Italian city states in Mediterranean after the 16th century. Especially after the Ottoman Empire appeared as a rising power in Mediterranean, dimensions of these relations had extended. Florence has been also affected by the obligation of having a negative or positive relationship with the Turks whose superiority in the Mediterranean region was accepted. Initial friendly relations which had begun between these two states, have gained different dimensions in time. In this paper. the attempts to save the Turks enslaved by Tuscan corsairs and the influences of these events in terms of commercial relations during the 17th century will be held.
