Izmir has emergence as a commercial center of Levantine world in the 17th century and has maintained its development in the following centuries. Local archival records concerning to these periods are not available. In the second half of the 18th century, the application of the paying local expenditures on the spot which were put into effect according to certain procedures, presents indispensable knowledge for the socio-economic history of the region. The archival records which contain above mentioned information. sheds light on the socio-economic and administrative history of lzmir at the end of the 18th century.
