The Evaluation and the Analyze of the Pact Given by Sultan Mahmud to Russia in 1739 in Terms of Diplomacy
Abstract :
The pacts (ahidname), which were formal documents including commercial privileges given by the Ottoman sultans to foreign states or peace treaties and situations concerning them, have distinct internal and external specialities. The external specialities consist of paleography so that the specy of the paper and where it was produced, the type of the documents, seal ext. Internal specialities can be shaped according the issue and structural and diplomatic forms. In this study, we will examine the internal specialties of the pact texts of Beograd Treaty signed between Ottoman state and Russia in 1739. Our main goal is to reveal the reflects of the changing diplomatic structure in parallel with political an martial developments on the text of treaties.
