The First World War is one of the major wars in human history that caused loss of life and property. It took place mainly in Europe. With this war, the term total war was used for the first time. The Ottoman Empire found itself in this war in alliance with Germany as a result of many events. Thus, it joined an enormous war against its enemies in Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Caucasia and Dardanelles frontiers. Taking place during the time when the Ottoman Empire had financial difficulties, the battles revealed cooperation within the society. The Red Crescent Society contributed to the Ottoman army by supporting them materially and spiritually organising certain artistic activities. We see minority schools participating in these activities as well. The experience of the Red Crescent Society had in this period, contributed dramatically to the development and diversity of activities of the community. In this aspect it undertook owerwellming responsibilities both the soldiers who took part in the wars and people who needed help. In this study these material and spiritual support will be examined considering the artistic activities.
