Effect of mycorrhiza treatment on the yield and some physiological characteristics of Cyprus vetch (Lathyrus ochrus) under different salt (NaCI) concentrations
Abstract :
This study was conducted in order to determine the effect of mycorrhiza treatment on the agronomical and physiological characteristics of Cyprus vetch (Lathyrus ochrus) under different salt levels (0-50-100-150 mMol NaCI) in the laboratory of Pasture and Forage Crops section of Field Crops Department, Agriculture Faculty, Ege University in 2009. Traits tested in the experiment were dry matter yield, root fresh weight, contents of clorophyll a-b and prolin in leaves and membrane integrity. Results indicated that increasing salt levels negatively affected above mentioned traits compared to control, and the constructive contributions of mycorrhiza on the physiological aspects of L.ochrus was evident. Crops with mycorrhizal symbiosis performed better than untreated crop material.
