The risk perception of the farmers on agricultural machinery using
Abstract :
One of the main reasons of agricultural accidents is the use agricultural machinery in this sector. Agricultural accidents and related injuries are not only due to working with this machinery but also related to maintenance, adjustment, cleaning and open blockages operations. The main aim of this research is to determine the risk perception of the farmers that are using agricultural machinery. For this purpose, face to face interviews were conductedmainly with the farmers. It was evaluated the perception of hazardous machinery, and farmers training and skill levels. In addition, it was recommended some suggestions for minimizing the agricultural accidents with these evaluations.According to the research results, present state of risks on agricultural machinery accident has continued without any decrease. It is concluded that the most vulnerable groups to these accidents are women, children and other people that are not operator. They have had insufficient knowledge and experience on the safeuse of agricultural machinery.It recommended that training and extension activities for the users of agricultural machinery will reduce the risks of accident
