A Research on the Effect of Breeders’ Association on Agricultural Development : Case of Edirne Cattle Breeders’ Association

Nowadays, one of the most important indicators of contemporary society is the common behavior in other words organization. For this, the organization has an important function in helping and development of rural communities and especially agriculture. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the importance and impacts of Turkey s major producer organizations growers associations on agricultural development, at the case study of Edirne Case with Cattle Breeders Association. The data of the study were collected from purposely selected 100 growers who are members of Edirne Cattle Breeders Association by face to face interviews. According to the findings, the members of the Association are eligible the most for support from the milk. Producers having young and more dairy cows found supports for milk sufficient. In addition, the number of respondents, who believe being union members has economic advantages, is increasing with firm size, education level, the number of animals. It is also found that satisfaction for extension work and activities of the association is increasing with the number of animals owned and firm size. G
