Title Of Article :
Effect of Zinc and Mycorrhizae Application on Nutrient Content Yield and Quality in Cotton
Abstract :
the objective of the present study was to find out the effect of Zn doses (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg ha-1) and mycorrhizae (Glomus mosseae) inoculation on nutrient uptake, yield and quality characteristics in Cotton. Trial established in a randomized complete block design under field conditions. The nutritional status of Mycorrhizae inoculated plants was found better than non-inoculated plants (control). Especially mycorrhizae inoculation improved N, P, K, Zn and Cu nutrition in cotton as important. In addition the increasing levels of Zn fertilization increased significantly N, P, K and Zn content in cotton leaves according to control parcels. Yield and first picking percentage which is an important criterion of earliness affected as significant from mycorrhizae and zinc applications. The highest values were obtained in 50 kg ha-1 Zn and mycorrhizae applied plot. Fiber resistance which is cotton quality characteristics changed with the zinc application. The highest value of fiber resistance was obtained in the maximum zinc doses.
